The Celebrating for Janie

My niece Janie turned 7 on October 4th (10-4 good buddy… okay showing my age)! Well, I was having a little difficulty getting my pictures from the celebration to WordPress. I beginning to think that it’s totally operator error hehe!

Anyway without further ado, or problems from the “operator”, here’s Janie’s birthday celebration at my parent’s home!

Janie wanted pink and green streamers, a Minecraft “grass block” cake, and for lunch BLT’s without the T’s (that’s a bacon and lettuce sandwich). My 29 y/o niece asked “The rest of us can have T’s (tomatoes) can’t we? Sure thing!

Just to let everyone know that’s not clued in to Minecraft, here is what a “grass soil block” looks like…

Of course Avery and Finley needed to help Janie open her presents!

Well, as the saying goes… “Better late than never”,  I’m sorry for the ” operator error” and for some reason blurry pictures that day! You’ll still like me anyway, right? Heehee!

The Celebrating!

Yesterday we celebrated my nephew Keegan’s birthday at my Mom & Dad’s! It was fantastic! Everyone was there except for Keegan’s girlfriend and her son!

Keegan requested “Grandpa burgers” (which usually the grandkids do), Bob Evan’s mac and cheese and a yellow cake with white icing! The rest of the meal he didn’t care.

“Grandpa burgers” are sirloin patties from a local market near my parent’s, Lehr’s Prime Market” and grilled with another local’s, Montgomery Inn, bbq sauce on them!  Then topped with cheese, if you want, and whatever toppings you like! Nothing fancy, but very delicious!

I got busy sidetracked with my young nieces Janie & Avery, great niece Finley and little great nephew Easton, and didn’t get pics of everything I was planning to take, but… here’s a few!

Ok, this one is really blurry but I had to show Rudy seeing little Easton for the very first time!

The girls “helping” Keegan with his gifts! They usually help everyone on every occasion, well, except Christmas! They’re to busy with their own then :)! It’s Keegan’s little cousin Janie (love her expression, she’s on the left)and little sister Avery!

They’re still interested in the cards! BTW, everyone is required to read their cards out loud!

Once again the girls waiting for the candles to be lit so they can “help” blow them out! Now Keegan’s little niece Finley has joined him! I guess in a couple years Easton will have to “help” everyone too!

It was a wonderful day of celebrating! I got to see and spend time with my whole family! Thank you Dad & Mom for everything, Mitzi & Mark, Tony & Bridget, Britainy & John, Keegan, Cassidy, Janie, Avery, Finley and Easton! Of course I also got to spend the day with my immediate family, so thank you Rudy & Audrey too!

I am so greatly blessed! Thank you Lord!

Deer Family Update

Here’s a photo update on our momma and baby living in our backyard. If you missed my “birth announcement” you can see it here ;)!

Here the momma is right at the base of our porch steps eating her evening meal before turning in for the night. The fawn is under a bush farther to the top of this picture!

The next morning both the momma and baby were out roaming around. The mom eating and the baby drinking. Where the fawn is feeding is about 100 feet from where they usually sleep. So momma takes the fawn out exploring around the yard a couple times a day.

She Chose Our Yard!

We have just under one acre within the city limits! We share the end of the cul-de-sac with one other house. So both our properties are a fairly large pie wedge with most of the yard being in the back.

We also are close to a 1,459 acre forest, so we are always getting deer, hawks, falcons and many other animals that stray from the woods on their adventures.

However, with all the deer we have seen, we have never had a pregnant doe choose our yard for her “birthing center”! The last two nights we have had the joy of watching this little one take it’s first few steps into the world. All under the protective eye of it’s mother in our fenced backyard.

It’s been really exciting watching the little one take it’s first steps. Momma looks pretty young herself, and seems to be a very good one!

We’re going to try and keep getting updates without disturbing them! Would you like them too?
