Continue Prayers for Our Great Nation!

faith-1

Today I am very concerned  for our country (though I voted for the President-elect).  I worry that the other sides voters will not think before reacting to the news, that our country (after this divisive election) will not heal from it’s wounds.

I do still have peace knowing that God is in control. I also know that with Americans praying for Trump and Clinton to be elected, God could have let either side have what they wanted even if wasn’t the best thing for us at the moment (read in I Samuel 8:5-22, Israel asked Samuel for a “king” to rule over them. Even after the Lord told them how it would be, they still wantedone. So, the Lord gave them one…King Saul).

President-elect Trump is our new president. He will have my prayers for his strength, his safety and his wisdom. We all need to pray for this great nation, remember that this country was founded on God. We must return to His Will for America.

You can find great comfort in God’s Word. Grab your bible, read His Word and pray for his guidance. Here’s some verses to get you started…

I Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
~*~
Psalms 24:1
The earth is the LORD’s,
and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
~*~
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right
hand of my righteousness.
~*~
Psalms 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times:
his praise shall continuallybe in my mouth.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

~Author Unknown

In the year of 1776

That paper was decreed –

They were tired of oppression

And wanted to be freed

They wrote a Declaration

So the whole world would see –

This was, “the home of the brave

And the land of the free”

They signed that piece of parchment

The leaders of this land –

Knowing, divided they would fall

But, together they could stand

A new world lay before them

Untamed from shore to shore –

They swore the would protect it

If it meant going to war

Battles have been fought –

And many lives have been lost –

So sad something so basic

Has such a high, high cost

‘Seems freedom is a luxury

There’s some would bind us all –

Like then, together, we can stand

But divided, we will fall

More than two hundred years

Have past by since that day

That each of us celebrate

In our own different way

We should be proud and thankful

Pay our share of the cost –

Not take freedom for granted

For it easily could be lost

A very special thanks to my dear husband Rudy for his service in the Navy, my uncles Joe, Hubert, Arnold, Curtis and Estes (whom I never met because he gave his life on Tuesday, July 25, 1944. Buried during WWII in Normandy American Cemetery; Colleville-sur-Mer, France). Special thanks also to my brother-in-law Jeffrey, my nephew Keith, and to all my cousins who have served.

A special thanks to every man and woman who has ever put on a uniform to protect our freedom and our wonderful nation

Thirteen Years Ago!

MrRuffles_911 Where were you when you heard the news?

Our Fourth Celebration!

Our big celebration every year since 1998 (Audrey was one year old) has been the three of us and our four-legged children having a day of fun, sun, lounging in the Step 2 kiddie pool, grilling corn on the cob, garlic potatoes & onions in foil and porterhouse steak! Well this year was no different! Brought some snacks, my phone, regular digital camera and my little pocket one too (in the purple case), and my inhaler incase my asthma acts up!

Got he necessities ready!

Audrey brought a stack of books! Dressed in heels of course!

However this next picture is really the only picture I’m suppose to post of her… her hands. Really, that’s it, she’s 17! Those with teenagers or has had teenagers need no further explanation, right? To help you that haven’t been there yet… I was “informed” (picture me doing quotie marks) that I can’t post any pictures of her, ever, on my blog. When I asked “but I’d like to include you when you’re with us too!” She replied “Okay then, just my hands” so seriously. So here she is! Isn’t she cute!

A lot of my pictures have Audrey (the girl that shall not be photoed) in them, but here are a few random ones that don’t! Lily

On this next photo pay close attention to the 4 stems sticking straight up with NOTHING on them (oh and there’s more than 4)! They were sunflowers! That’s right, we should be enjoying big beautiful yellow flowers (Audrey’s favorite)! Guess what happened? It was a deer buffet! They just strolled right down the line biting the flowers off! The first year that happened!

Audrey of course had this close by! Do you know what the quote on her case is from? It’s a TV show! (I’ll tell you in the comments)

AMERICA

My country, ’tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims’ pride,
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!

My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above.

Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom’s song;
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.

Our father’s God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom’s holy light,
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God our King.
