A Friendship Through Time!

Yesterday my sister Mitzi posted this birthday wish on her Facebook page…

It’s to her kindergarten friend Michelle! As she said on her FB post they have been friends for 44 years!

Me being the older sister I remember Mitzi telling us about her new friend at kindergarten. I also remember her 6th birthday and her being so excited about her party and her best friend getting to come! Of course Michelle was at every party after that too!

They were together through elementary school, middle school, junior & senior high schools! First boyfriends, were cheerleaders together, and were there for each other through all the ups and downs of high school!

They had their first children together (me a niece, Michelle a little boy a couple months later)! They even had their second child together… seven years later (this time a nephew for me and a girl for Michelle)! They stopped having kids together, my sister went on to have two more sweet nieces for me.

Now 44 years after first meeting, through the childhood  struggles that seemed so large, to the adult trials and tribulations they each had that were so large, that were made easier by being blessed with a true “Best Friend”!

True Best Friends Mitzi & Michelle!

Love you both so much! Thanks Michelle for being my sister’s best friend!

The Celebrating!

Yesterday we celebrated my nephew Keegan’s birthday at my Mom & Dad’s! It was fantastic! Everyone was there except for Keegan’s girlfriend and her son!

Keegan requested “Grandpa burgers” (which usually the grandkids do), Bob Evan’s mac and cheese and a yellow cake with white icing! The rest of the meal he didn’t care.

“Grandpa burgers” are sirloin patties from a local market near my parent’s, Lehr’s Prime Market” and grilled with another local’s, Montgomery Inn, bbq sauce on them!  Then topped with cheese, if you want, and whatever toppings you like! Nothing fancy, but very delicious!

I got busy sidetracked with my young nieces Janie & Avery, great niece Finley and little great nephew Easton, and didn’t get pics of everything I was planning to take, but… here’s a few!

Ok, this one is really blurry but I had to show Rudy seeing little Easton for the very first time!

The girls “helping” Keegan with his gifts! They usually help everyone on every occasion, well, except Christmas! They’re to busy with their own then :)! It’s Keegan’s little cousin Janie (love her expression, she’s on the left)and little sister Avery!

They’re still interested in the cards! BTW, everyone is required to read their cards out loud!

I love the cute big brother, little sister look going on here!

Once again the girls waiting for the candles to be lit so they can “help” blow them out! Now Keegan’s little niece Finley has joined him! I guess in a couple years Easton will have to “help” everyone too!

It was a wonderful day of celebrating! I got to see and spend time with my whole family! Thank you Dad & Mom for everything, Mitzi & Mark, Tony & Bridget, Britainy & John, Keegan, Cassidy, Janie, Avery, Finley and Easton! Of course I also got to spend the day with my immediate family, so thank you Rudy & Audrey too!

I am so greatly blessed! Thank you Lord!
